1. Project Background
The Health Alliance for Digital Development & Action (HADDA) project, implemented locally by the Nomad Innovation Lab (NomadiLab), is scaling up its digital health infrastructure in Somalia to strengthen healthcare data management and empower health workers. The RAAD digital health platform, central to this initiative, is being introduced across health facilities in Banadir, Puntland and Galmudug, beginning with an initial set of scale-up facilities.

2. Purpose
The purpose of this video and photo series is to document the rollout, training, and operational impact of the RAAD platform in the first batch of scale-up facilities. This visual content will:

  • Highlight the installation process, health worker training, and real-world application of the RAAD system.

  • Capture testimonials from health workers, facility managers, and key stakeholders from the Ministry of Health.

  • Communicate HADDA’s progress to external audiences, including donors, partners, and the broader community.

3. Scope of Work
The Videographer/Photographer will:

  • Work with a draft storyboard and script provided by the HADDA team, finalizing these collaboratively to align with project objectives.

  • Capture footage and photos in the first batch of scale-up health facilities, covering all phases from initial setup to end-user interactions.

  • Conduct interviews with critical stakeholders, including health facility in-charges, HMIS officers, and Ministry of Health representatives.

  • Provide high-quality video and photos that portray the early impacts and potential of the HADDA project as implemented by NIL.

4. Key Photo Requirements

  1. Facility Exterior and Environment in First Batch Sites

    • Details: Shots of facility exteriors, surrounding environments, and entrance signage.

  2. Installation of RAAD System

    • Details: Technical setup, close-ups of servers and digital equipment, and interactions between NIL team members and facility staff.

  3. Training Sessions for Health Workers

    • Details: Trainers (NIL team) guiding health workers, with images of hands-on training and group learning environments.

  4. Stakeholder and End-User Interviews

    • Details: Portraits of facility managers, HMIS officers, and Ministry of Health representatives sharing their insights.

  5. Operational Use of RAAD System in Daily Practice

    • Details: Health workers inputting patient data, generating health reports, and using the platform to support daily tasks.

  6. Community and Patient Interactions

    • Details: Capture the benefits to community health outcomes, including patient-health worker interactions to show RAAD’s practical impact.

5. Deliverables

  1. Finalized Storyboard and Script - Developed collaboratively with the HADDA/NIL team.

  2. Raw Footage and Photos - High-resolution files capturing all stages of the scale-up across the first batch facilities.

  3. Edited Video - 5-8 minute video highlighting RAAD’s rollout, user training, and initial impacts.

  4. Photo Gallery - 30-50 high-resolution images organized by phase, showcasing NIL’s role in the scale-up.

6. Required Experience

  • Experience in the health sector or NGO-focused video and photography production.

  • Proficiency in conducting interviews and capturing high-quality footage in local settings.

  • Knowledge of the Somali context and language preferred, with experience collaborating with local partners like NIL a plus.

7. Proposal Submission:

Interested videographers are invited to submit their proposals by the 7th of November, 2024.

8. Evaluation Criteria:

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

●  Quality and relevance of previous work.

●  Suitability of proposed approach.

●  Cost-effectiveness of the proposal.

●  Availability to meet project deadlines.

All information provided will be treated as confidential and used solely for video production for this project.
